Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The budget of Rs 359 crore of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University for the financial year 2026-27 was approved in the Senate meeting in the Mahatma Phule Auditorium, at 11 am on Saturday.
Vice Chancellor Dr Vijay Fulari presided over the meeting. Pro-VC Dr Walmik Sarwade, Registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar, Finance and Accounts Officer (FAO) Savita Jampawad, Director of the Board of Examination and Evaluation Dr B N Dole and all the dean members were present.
A total of 20 subjects were on the agenda of this meeting for discussion.
FAO, Deputy Registrar Dr Sanjay Kavade, Officers Nitin Patil, Ravi Deshmukh and colleagues prepared the budget for the financial year 2026-27 while Management Council Member Principal Dr Bharat Khandare presented the budget with a shayri.
The budget of the university for the year 2026-2027 has been prepared with a view to creating the necessary compatible facilities and environment in the education system of the university to enable students to face the competition arising due to this change.

Some of the salient features of budget
The salient features of the budget for the year 2026-27 are as follows.
--The expected revenue of the university is Rs. 333.31 crore. This includes salary, grant receipt of Rs 95.5 crore, development and independent project plans and other grants of Rs 108.12 crore and the amount received from various sources of the Bamu is Rs 130.14 crore.
---The total expected expenditure of the university for the year 2026-27 is Rs 359.1 crore. Out of this, Rs 95.5 crore is to be used for salaries, Rs 108.12 crore for development and independent project schemes and other grants and Rs 155.84 crore as the general fund.
--Considering the revenue and expenditure, the total deficit in the budget is expected to be Rs 25.70 crore. Last year, the expected deficit was 6.46 crore. This year, the expected deficit is expected to be 7.15 crore.
-- A total expenditure of Rs 22 crore 31 lakh is expected for the examination department.
-- Rs. 2 crore for pavilion, gallery, synthetic track, gym hall, Rs. 25 lakh for playground at the university sub-campus Dharashiv, Rs 50 lakh for other necessary equipment, cricket ground and Rs 15 lakh for sports material and Rs. 50 lakh for wrestling ground/open gymnasium.
-- Rs 1.40 crore has been provided for the effective implementation of the Late Vasantrao Kale Swabhiman Shikshan Kamwa Wa Shika Yojana.
