Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Three persons sustained minor injuries after a car rammed into a roadside tree on Friday morning in the Chikalthana Industrial Area, behind the Garware company, when the driver reportedly lost control over the steering wheel.

The stretch has witnessed repeated accidents in the past. When vehicles go out of control due to overspeeding, they often crash into nearby trees or a low-height hillock along the road. Traffic police had earlier written to the municipal corporation seeking installation of speed breakers at the spot to prevent mishaps. However, officials said no response has been received so far. A school is also located nearby, raising serious concerns about the safety of students, according to local residents.
