Thieves broke into a grocery shop in Satara and decamped with cash, tins of oil and ghee, almonds, and other goods worth thousands of rupees. The theft came to light at around 8 am on Thursday.

The shop, owned by Meena Jogas, is located on Renuka Mata Temple Road in Satara. She had closed the store at 9 pm on Monday and returned home. During the night, the accused cut the shutter strip and lock latch to gain entry. The stolen items include Rs 62,000 in cash, 10 kg of cashews, 12-litre tins of oil, 8 kg of almonds and walnuts, three 15-litre oil tins, and the CCTV camera DVR.A case has been registered at the Satara police station.
