Celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti Peacefully: DCP Pankaj Atulkar

"Everyone should cooperate to ensure that the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti procession is carried out peacefully and within the framework of the law. As per the Supreme Court's orders, a sound limit of 75 decibels, a time limit until midnight, and the concept of 'One Mandal – One Head Constable' will be strictly enforced," said Pankaj Atulkar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

He was speaking at a Peace Committee meeting held at MASSIA Hall, More Chowk, on Tuesday evening for the celebration of Dr Ambedkar’s Jayanti. Various dignitaries, office-bearers, members of festival committees and administrative officials were present.

In the meeting, Police Inspector Rameshwar Gade made it clear that strict action would be taken against illegal liquor sales.

Komal Bodhare, while giving electrical safety instructions, advised that special care should be taken to ensure that flags and banners placed on electric poles do not come in contact with live electrical wires.

Gram Panchayat Officer B. L. Bhalerao, Electricity Company. MIDC Assistant Engineer Ganesh Mulikar informed that a cleanliness drive will be carried out two days before the Jayanti. Fire Department's Anil Deshmukh appealed to the public to immediately inform the fire brigade in case of any emergency.

--To avoid noise pollution, permission will be granted only for two bass and two top sound systems.

--Laser sharp lights and DJ systems have been banned.

--It was also announced that more women officers will be deployed for women's safety.
