CSN region ITIs are set to receive industry-integrated learning through 42 upgraded courses and 12 new courses under the PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs) scheme.
The Maharashtra cabinet has approved this initiative to boost skill development and employment opportunities for youth. As the city emerges as Maharashtra’s EV manufacturing hub, with over Rs 1 lakh crore investment, the scheme will ensure a skilled workforce ready for industry needs. The first phase will cover 20–25 Hub-and-Spoke clusters, approximately 100–125 ITIs, to validate the SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) model. Launched by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, the programme will upgrade training infrastructure and help candidates secure jobs. Under the SPV model, industries will manage ITI clusters, influence curriculum design, provide training, handle project execution, and ensure financial sustainability. This collaboration bridges education and employment, preparing youth for real-world opportunities in a growing industrial city.
