Cidco police stepped in to protect and assist a 32-year-old mentally distressed woman found wandering near the M-2 TV Centre area on May 5. Acting on alerts from residents who dialled 112 around 3 pm, a police team reached the spot, and women personnel calmly brought her to the police station.

Senior inspector takes initiative Senior police inspector Atul Yerme attempted to communicate with the woman. However, due to her disturbed mental state, she repeatedly said, “I do not want to trouble anyone, please let me go,” and avoided giving clear responses. Considering her vulnerability, the police deemed it unsafe to leave her unattended and initiated immediate action.

Medical treatment and safe shelter
The woman was first admitted to the government medical college and hospital (GMCH) for medical examination, where doctors began treatment related to her mental health condition. Subsequently, she was shifted to “Manuski Vruddha Sevalaya,” run by Sumit Pandit, to ensure a secure and supportive environment. She is currently safe, and efforts are underway to ascertain her identity.
