Agra Power Cut: Electricity Supply to Remain Disrupted in Several Areas On May 8; Details Inside
Amid the rising temperature across the country, several areas of Agra will be under scheduled power cut on May 8 2026, Friday. The power supply in many villages fed by Akola power station will be affected in this power cut. Authorities have alerted public to keep mobile phone batteries charge.
As per the electricity department, power will be affected for a total of six hours starting from 10 am to 4 pm. This cut will affect areas connected to the Akola feeder. Sub-divisional officer Himanshu Gupta said that work will be done to install new poles on the power line between Malpura Vidyut Kendra and Akola Vidyut Kendra.
This work will be done at places where the distance between the wires is more and the spans are longer. At present, power supply is often affected during heat and storms due to longer distance between wires. This maintenance work is being done with an aim to overcome this problem and ensure uninterrupted power supply to the consumers during summer.
