Aurangabad, Nov 28:

The citizens at Apegaon and Beed have expressed strong suspicion that the leopards that attacked and killed four persons have tuned into a man-eater. However, the forest and wildlife department teams are working to find the reason behind the attacks.

Leopards never attack humans as they never consider them as their natural prey. However, the forest department is looking into the cause of the recent attacks that killed four people in Paithan and Beed district. Special search teams have been deployed at both the spots and eight to ten cages have also been placed to catch the leopards. There are similarities between the attacks at both the places. According to officials, when a human is working in the field in a bent position, the leopard''s eye sees it similar to its natural prey and within its reach. In the first incident a father and son duo were killed by a leopard in Paithan. In another incident, two people were killed in Beed district by a leopard. The farmers and villagers are afraid to go into their farms and step outside during night. The forest officials have asked the citizens to be on alert till the leopard is found.
