Aurangabad, March 1:

The administration of Zilla Parishad (ZP) cancelled a contractor's licence for the submission of fake certificates.

Bhagwan Vilasrao Avhad submitted certificates of work done and work-in-hand to get a contract form Water Supply Department of the ZP.

Based on a received complaint, the administration probed the matter and found that Avhad had not done those works but submitted its certificates.

An additional chief executive officer of ZP Santosh Kawde cancelled the permission of doing works up to Rs 1.50 crore.

It was found in the probe that out of a total of nine works, five were done by another contractor. The contractor was issued a licence on the basis of documents verified by the Construction Department.

Kawde directed the Water Supply Department executive engineer to take action against the officers who verified the documents and issued the certificate. The probe of earlier certificates of work done and work-in-hand will be done.
