Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Driven by the desire to drink alcohol for free, four criminals created a ruckus in a bar. They assaulted staff, brandished a sword and threatened other customers, evaded a bill of Rs 14,333, and forcibly took Rs 5,000 from the manager’s pocket while issuing death threats. The incident took place at around 1 am on March 21 at Kabru House Hotel on Link Road. The accused have been identified as Vikas Rahatwade and Sarang Tarmage (both residents of Kanchanwadi), along with two other accomplices who fled after the incident.

Akash Kantilal Golechha (29, of Raja Bazar) is the manager of the bar. On the night of March 21, while he was on duty, the accused entered the bar and placed an order for alcohol. Soon after, they picked a quarrel over the presence of non-Marathi staff. One of them drew a sword tucked at his waist and began waving it around while shouting. They assaulted Akash and snatched Rs 5,000 from his pocket. They also threatened other customers, forcing the staff and manager to apologise unnecessarily, thereby attempting to create an atmosphere of terror.

Fled after consuming liquor worth Rs 14,000

The accused collectively ordered alcohol worth Rs 14,333. After causing a disturbance for some time, they left with the liquor and escaped in a car (MH-20-EX-1431). A case has been registered against all four at Satara Police Station, and PSI Nandkumar Bhandare is investigating the matter.

Had murdered a friend in 2021

Tarmage already has cases of assault registered against him. Meanwhile, Vikas Rahatwade, along with Sandeep alias Gujjar Mulekar, had brutally murdered his friend Mahesh Kakde on September 12, 2021 by crushing his head. He was released on bail a few months ago in that case and has since resumed creating fear in the area.
