Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: To achieve the targets for property tax and water tax collection, municipal corporation administrator G Sreekanth issued an order on Friday, assigning the responsibility of Assessor and Collector of Tax (ACT) to Deputy Commissioner Vikas Nawale. At the same time, the post of Additional Commissioner - II has been abolished, and the responsibilities of Deputy Commissioner Vijay Patil have been expanded accordingly.

Earlier, the deputy commissioner Aparna Thete was holding the position of ACT. However, due to her failure to meet the tax recovery targets, the Administrator implemented changes in departmental responsibilities.

Thete will now handle the Estate, Municipal Secretary, Legal, Zoo and Veterinary, and Housing (Gharakul) sections. Vijay Patil will be in charge of the Environment, Security, Sports, and Swimming sections.

The departmental reallocations were ordered by the administrator to improve efficiency and meet key administrative targets.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Suryawanshi has been assigned to the General Administration, Records, Elections and Census, and Labour Welfare sections. Deputy Commissioner Ankush Pandhare will oversee Fire Services, Education, and Tourism Development. Deputy Commissioner Lakhichand Chavan has been entrusted with Social Development, Information and Technology, Library, Culture, Information and Public Relations, Central Stores, and NULM (National Urban Livelihood Mission).

Bhave to Head Gunthewari Cell

Town Planner Kaustubh Bhave has been appointed as the Head of the Gunthewari Cell. To streamline the zone-wise operations junior engineer Baliram Bomble has been assigned responsibility for Gunthewari Files in Zone Numbers 1 to 5 and junior engineer Akshay Deshmukh for Zone Numbers 6 to 10. These appointments aim to enhance oversight and efficiency in dealing with Gunthewari-related issues across the city.

Dhande to Head Water Supply Section

Kiran Dhande, the acting Executive Engineer (Water Supply), has been appointed as the Head of the section. Other key departmental appointments include Anil Tanpure has been appointed as Head of the Satara-Deolai Special Drainage Project and the Western Division. Abdul Farooq Khan will handle the Garden section along with responsibility for the Eastern and Central Drainage Projects. M B Kazi has been appointed as the Head of the Vigilance Cell.
