Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Pratik Chandrashekar Kushare, a youth from the city has secured All-India Rank 100 in the Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination conducted by the union Public Service Commission (UPSC), without ever leaving his hometown to study in Delhi or Pune.

Pratik completed a Mechanical Engineering diploma from a Government Polytechnic after passing Class 10 in 2013, followed by a B.E. degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College in 2019.

Choosing public service over a corporate career, he began full-time UPSC preparation in 2020. Despite failing in four consecutive attempts, he persisted, supported strongly by his mother, a teacher, and his father, who is a farmer and succeeded in his fifth attempt.

He studied entirely through self-study at home, putting in eight hours daily for five years. Through the IFS, he hopes to contribute to forest conservation, biodiversity protection, and environmental preservation.
