Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Sanjaynagar to Baijipura road is an important and busy route in the city. The City Congress Committee (CCC) has demanded that this road be named after the late Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, former leader of the opposition in the municipal corporation. A delegation led by CCC president Shaikh Yusuf met mayor Sameer Rajurkar and submitted a memorandum regarding the demand.

Dr Zafar Khan served as a corporator in the municipal corporation from 2010 to 2015 and as leader of the opposition from 2013 to 2015, playing an effective role and contributing to the city’s development. He earned respect and recognition among citizens for his work. In honour of his social and public service, the memorandum urges that the Sanjaynagar–Baijipura road be named ‘Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan Marg’.

Former standing committee chairman Iqbalsingh Gill, organisation general secretary Engr. Vishal Banswal, Shaikh Kaiser Baba, Dr Sikandar Shaikh, Yogesh Thorat, along with Congress office-bearers and workers, were present on the occasion.
