Aurangabad, Jan 22:

In a surprising development, a candidate desirous of contesting the forthcoming municipal corporation election on Shiv Sena ticket from Pawannagar (Hudco), has staged a demonstration at elevated storage reservoir (ESR) in N-7 Cidco, today morning. As soon as the civic officers hinted him at lodging a police complaint, he along with two activists, disappeared from the spot.

It so happened that the AMC had announced that the water supply to Cidco's N-5 and N-6 sectors would be disrupted today from 9 am to 5 pm as MSEDCL has undertaken maintenance works in the vicinity. Despite knowing about it, the desirous candidate with two activists reached the AMC's water supply office and started agitation for want of water. He demanded to supply water to them. The civic officers informed their superiors about it, and they ordered to file offences against the agitators. As soon as, the desirous candidate learnt about it, he and activists left the place, said the sources. It is learnt that the AMC officials agreed to supply water to Pawannagar through tanker, but the agitators refused to it.
