Disinfection of schools, junior colleges starts

Aurangabad, Nov 19:

Classes of 9 class to 12 class from 1,786 schools and 437 junior colleges in the district are starting from Monday. Necessary cleaning and disinfection is being done for this purpose. Education officer (secondary) Dr B B Chavan said more than 250 RTPCR tests had been conducted at tehsil level on the first day till noon.

Schools and junior colleges from 9th to 12th standard of all mediums of the municipal corporation, Zilla Parishad (ZP), Municipal council, Private, Aided, Unaided colleges and schools will be started. The consent forms of the parents of the students have been invited, and the schools have started collecting the consent forms. As per the arrangement, a single student will be seated on a bench. Chavan said the school administration has been instructed to take strict care of the safety and health of the children and strictly follow the guidelines of the government and prepare all the arrangements related to hygiene and health. The collector, chief secretary, principal secretary of the education department reviewed the health, panchayat and education departments.

School wise testing

There are 6,919 teachers in rural areas. The university laboratory has a capacity of 2,500 RTPCRs, and the GMCH has a capacity of 800 RT-PCR tests. An action plan has been prepared for two sessions for school wise tests of teachers and non-teaching staff at rural and sub-district hospitals and 51 health centres in the district in the next three days. Most of the 83 centres were inspected on Thursday under the guidance of group education officers and tehsil health officers. There is also a plan to take swabs and deliver them to the laboratory, and the health department is making efforts to carry out these tests before Monday, district health officer Dr Sudhakar Shelke said.
