Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Rajasthan governor Haribhau Bagde has urged people to stay away from co-operative credit societies that lure depositors with unusually high interest rates. He stated that many such institutions have collapsed financially and ended up in crisis, with cases registered against their office-bearers and some even facing imprisonment. Hence, there is no reason to show sympathy towards such institutions, he added.

He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the upgraded building of Yashwant ‘Rural Non-Agri Credit Co-operative Society Limited’ in Karmad. The event was attended by MP Dr Kalyan Kale, former union minister Raosaheb Danve, former minister Dr Bhagwat Karad, Phulambri MLA Anuradha Chavan, Sillod MLA Abdul Sattar, public works department chief engineer Atul Chavan, market committee chairman Shriram Shelke, director Abhijit Deshmukh and others.

Yashwant credit society president Dattatray Ukarde presented an overview of the institution in his introductory remarks. The guests were welcomed by secretary Rameshwar Solke, vice-president Ganesh Taro, Rajendra Ukarde, Baban Mule, Dnyaneshwar Misal, Jalinder Bhavale, Sushila Taro, Nirmala Dakle and Chhaya Wagh. Candidates selected for government service, meritorious students and women who have made notable contributions in various fields were felicitated at the hands of the governor. Director Bhaurao Mule proposed the vote of thanks. The event was successfully organised with efforts by secretary Anil Dakle and his team.
