MIDC Waluj police have registered a case against nine persons, including a husband, for allegedly harassing a married woman physically and mentally over a dowry demand of Rs 10 lakh in Belagavi, Karnataka.

According to the complaint, the accused repeatedly pressured the woman to bring money from her parents for purchasing agricultural land and threatened to kill her or throw her out of the house if she failed to do so. The accused also allegedly abused the complainant and her parents verbally. The harassment reportedly continued between December 29, 2021, and March 29, 2026.
