Driver crushed to death while trying to stop moving truck in freak Mishap

In a tragic accident at the Bharat Petroleum pump in Ladgaon on Saturday morning, Eicher driver Sandeep Dashrath Matkar (38), a resident of Hanumantgaon in Vaijapur taluka, was crushed between two vehicles and died.

After refuelling his Eicher (MH-17-CV-4478), Matkar stepped down to inspect it when the vehicle suddenly moved forward. As he attempted to climb back into the cabin to stop it, the Eicher side-collided with a parked truck (MH-17-BD-2227). In the process, he was trapped and crushed between the two vehicles. He was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead before treatment. Karmad police have registered a case. Matkar, who earned his livelihood by driving his own truck, is survived by his mother, wife, one son and two daughters. His sudden death has left the family and local community in shock.
