Eid celebrations tomorrow traffic restrictions
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Muslim communities are set to celebrate the holy festival of Ramzan Eid tomorrow, with special prayers scheduled at 21 major Eidgahs and mosques across the city.
Anticipating massive gatherings, the police have implemented traffic diversions and stepped up security to ensure smooth proceedings. The festival date is subject to moon sighting on March 31, which may lead to slight variations in observance. Key congregations are expected at Cantonment Eidgah and Roza Bagh Eidgah, necessitating significant law enforcement deployment. Around 10 police inspectors, 10 assistant inspectors, and 200 personnel will oversee Cantonment Eidgah, while Roza Bagh will have 2 inspectors and 30 personnel on duty. A total of 1,500 officers will be stationed across the city, with intensified patrolling in sensitive zones.
Traffic Diversions
• Vehicles from Milind Chowk will be redirected through Milcorner, Bhadkal Gate, Town Hall Flyover, Makai Gate, and Begumpura Chowk.
• Commuters from Uddhavrao Patil Chowk to Hudco Corner will use one side of the road near the government hospital.
Expected Turnout at Major Eidgahs
• Cantonment Eidgah: 80,000 to 90,000 worshippers
• Roza Bagh Eidgah: 15,000 to 16,000
• Usmanpura Eidgah: 8,000 to 10,000
• Shah Ashokta Dargah Eidgah (Satara): 9,000 to 10,000
