Expired saline bottles found on Civil Hospital premises!

Expired saline boxes were found lying on the premises of the District Civil Hospital in Chikalthana. Photos and videos of the incident have gone viral on social media.

Every day, a large number of patients come to the district hospital for treatment, and free medicines are provided to them. Amidst this, expired saline boxes were found lying out in the open. Some citizens took photos and videos and shared them on social media.

Meanwhile, political activists Manish Narwade and Amol Parbhale have demanded action against those responsible for throwing away medicines.

Saline bottles from the COVID-19 Period

Upon further inquiry, it was found that these saline bottles were supplied during the COVID-19 period. Nearly 800 saline bottles were expired.

The additional civil surgeon Dr Padmaja Saraf said,“ I collected information from the chief pharmaceutical officer, Gunwant Bharule, the expired saline boxes were recorded, and due to being wet from water, they were placed outside to dry. Once dried, they were brought back inside. The hospital management is handling the stock of medicines properly according to procedures.”
