Eyebrows raised as lone NCP (SP) corporator procures nomination forms for mayor, deputy mayor posts

In a surprising development, the office of the municipal secretary of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC), has today distributed one form each for the post of the mayor and the deputy mayor. Ironically, the form was procured by Satinder Singh (Navin) Manmohan Singh Oberoi.

The distribution of nomination forms for the posts of the mayor and the deputy mayor has started from February 4. The forms can be procured till 3 pm on February 6 and the deadline for submission is 6 pm on February 6. The mayor and deputy mayor elections will be held on February 10 at 11 am. The district collector Deelip swami will be the presiding officer for the election.

The CSMC municipal secretary section has confirmed about one each form for both the posts on Wednesday.

Interesting mayoral election

The party wise strength in the newly elected body includes BJP 57 seats, AIMIM 33 seats, Shinde Sena 13 seats, Uddhav Sena 06 seats, VBA four seats and one seat each of Congress and NCP (Sharad Pawar group).
