Aurangabad, July 2:

A fake State Bank of India customer care credit card officer duped the retired cashier of the bank of Rs 1.22 lakh online. The incident occurred on April 26 and a case in this regard has been registered at the Pundliknagar police station on July 2.

Police said, the complainant retired from the Town Centre branch as cashier. On April 26, she received a call from an unknown person, who told that he is a credit card customer care officer of the SBI bank. He told that her credit card has been cancelled and she will have to provide details of her account to start it again. Accordingly, she gave him all the information. Later, she came to know that Rs 1.22 lakh was deducted and transferred in the ICICI Bank account of a person named Gaurav Kumar Varma. When realized that she has been taken for a ride, she lodged a complainant at the Pundliknagar police station.
