Family duping residents with lure of gaining more profits on investment, booked
Aurangabad, Dec 16:
The Cantonment police have booked the family members for duping seven persons, including a policeman’s wife, for Rs 14.94 lakh with the false lure of gaining double profit by investing in a pigmy business.
The accused have been identified as Sanjay Balasaheb Thombre, his wife Indubai Thombre, sons Sachin and Nitin (all residents of Maji Sainik Colony, Padegaon, native of Didrud, Majalgaon, Beed).
According to the details, complainant Rekha Bhagwan Gaikwad’s (Maji Sainik Colony, Padegaon) husband is working in the Central Reserve Police Force. The accused family and complainant knew each other for a longer period. In February 2018, Thombre couple told Rekha Gaikwad that their son works in a pigmy business and can get double profit in two years if she invests in their business. The couple gained her confidence and guaranteed the security of the money. Hence, Rekha invested Rs 2.16 lakh and similarly Shubham Shankar Ghodke Rs 3.06 lakh, Nanda Sambhaji Gajale Rs 2.16 lakh, Mathura Bhika Ghuge Rs 2.16 lakh, Hamida Amir Khan Pathan (Manisha Colony, Waluj) Rs 2.16 lakh, Haridas Navdev Pawar (Firdaus Garden) Rs 2.16 lakh and Lata Vasant Gavande Rs.1,8 lakh. However, the investors did not get the money after the completion of the tenure. When they approached the Thombre family for their money, they told that their family members have suffered from Corona and will give the money afterward. The Thombre family members then went to their native place.
Meanwhile, the complainant and the other investors in July went to their native place, but the accused Sanjay was not at home. His sons Sachin and Nitin threatened them and asked them to leave. The complainant and others then lodged a complaint at the economic offense cell. A case has been registered at the Cantonment police station while P S Bhagile is further investigating the case.
