Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A shocking incident came to light on Tuesday evening after a student staying at the Panchratna Boys Hostel, located at Maharana Pratap Chowk in the Bajajnagar area, ended his life by hanging himself. The deceased has been identified as Shubham Sadashiv Chavan (19), a resident of Adgaon, Vasmat Taluka, Hingoli district. The incident has left the Bajajnagar locality in a state of profound grief.

According to reports, Shubham, a first-year B. Pharmacy student at Shreenath College of Pharmacy in Bajajnagar, was staying with two roommates. On Tuesday morning, his two roommates left for college, Shubham stayed behind alone; when the roommates returned at 3 pm to find the door locked from the inside and received no response, they looked through a rear opening and discovered him hanging from the ceiling fan.

The discovery caused immediate chaos, leading the hostel administration and teacher Anil Baviskar to alert the MIDC Waluj Police, who rushed to the scene while acquaintances Mohammed Khan and Munja Renge transported an unconscious Shubham to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment, where he was declared dead at 9. 35 pm. Despite his friends describing him as a calm, sociable, and well-mannered individual who showed no signs of stress, the police have registered a case of accidental death and are currently investigating to determine the exact motive behind the tragic incident.

Crowds of Friends Gather Outside the Hostel

As news of the student’s suicide spread like wildfire throughout the locality, a large crowd of students gathered outside the hostel. Many rushed to the scene, visibly distraught and unable to hold back their tears, mourning the loss of their peer.
