Aurangabad, DEC 7: The principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife), Nitin Kakodkar, has issued an order to catch or make unconscious and on failing to do so shoot the man-eater leopard.

Three persons became victims of the leopard at Surdi, Kinhi and Pargaon (Jogeshwari) in Ashti tehsil last month. Besides, two persons were injured in the attack. Earlier, one person was killed by a leopard in Pathardi tehsil of Ahmednagar district. Ashti MLA Balasaheb Ajbe and MLC Suresh Dhas pursued the matter with the principal and chief conservator(wildlife) of Maharashtra state.

The order has been issued and it is valid till January 21, 2021. It is also stated that the forest officer or police personnel should take action. No reward should be given after killing or catching the leopard. No private person should shoot the leopard. At present there is panic among the residents in Ashti, Shirur Kasar and Patoda tehsils.
