Four including three educated youths ended lives in last 24 hours

Aurangabad, May 25:

Four persons including three highly qualified youths have ended their lives, in separate incidents, during the last 24 hours in different parts of the city. The departed souls include a doctor, an engineer and a graduate, apart from one labourer.

A resident of Jyoti Pride Housing Society (Satara Parisar), Sagar Mahendra Kulkarni (21) has ended his life by hanging in his room today at 11.30 am. Sagar was a student of a dental college in Latur. The youth was suffering from Schizophrenia, as a result, he was staying at home for the past many months. He was taking treatment from a private doctor in the city. He was recovering from the disorder. It so happened that when did not open the door, his mother called the neighbour Sudhir Jadhav, who then broke open the door and found Sagar hanging in the room. He was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), but the doctors declared him dead on admission. Satara police station has registered the incident. ASI Subhash Chavan is investigating the case. Sagar's father works in GMCH, mother is a housewife and his elder brother is an engineer in Pune.

In the second case, a 27-year-old engineer Vilas Shyamrao Jagtap (of Savitrinagar in Chikalthana locality) has ended his life by hanging to the hook of the ceiling today at 8 pm. His relatives took him to GMCH in an unconscious state, but the doctors at the casualty ward declared him dead on admission. The family sustained a shock as he was very good in nature. He has two elder sisters (both married), while his father works as a carpenter. It is learnt that after completing his diploma, he was searching for a suitable job for a long time, said the relatives.

In the third incident, a 27-year-old Imran Khan Mukheem Khan (of Makai Gate) ended his life on Monday evening. Acting on the information, the Begumpura police reached the spot and performed the panchanama. He has ended his life on May 24 at 5 pm in the room situated on the first floor. The relatives rushed him in an unconscious state to GMCH. Begumpura police have registered an offence of accidental death. Head constable Syed Salim is investigating the case. Imran was married and is blessed with a one-year-old son. He was staying with his wife, son and parents. He was a graduate but was jobless. The reason for suicide could not be ascertained.

The 50-year-old labourer Bhagirath Appasaheb Wavare (Ahilyanagar, Mukundwadi locality) has ended his life by hanging to the roof of the bathroom today at 9 am. Acting upon the information, the patrolling police admitted Wavare to GMCH in an unconscious state. However, the doctors at the casualty ward declared him dead after the examination. Mukundwadi police have registered a case of accidental death. Wavare was a labourer and was without work owing to the lockdown. The head constable Shinde is investigating the case.
