Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
The School Education Department has decided to set up Artificial Intelligence (AI) laboratories in select schools across the state. Three schools have been chosen for this initiative, including PM SHRI Zilla Parishad School at Ganori in Phulambri tehsil, the only school from the Marathwada region to be selected.
To make students of Zilla Parishad schools more tech-savvy, an ‘AI Learning Lab’ will be established. Along with Ganori school, PM SHRI Sant Dnyaneshwar Municipal School No. 6 in Maval (Pune district) and Zilla Parishad High School and Junior College, Panchgaon in Umred tehsil (Nagpur district) have also been selected. These labs will be set up before the end of the current academic year with the support of HP India.
Students from Ganori and nearby areas will receive hands-on training in artificial intelligence through these labs. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on October 20, 2025, between Principal Secretary of the Education Department Ranjitsingh Deol and HP India. Under this agreement, the HP India Foundation has entrusted ‘Learning Links’, a reputed national organisation, with the responsibility of providing AI education, AI-based projects and computer training.
Training for 3 lakh students
Under the ‘Maha AI Mission’, the School Education Department aims to build a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence among 3 lakh students across the state over the next five years. Ganori school has been selected in the first phase of this project.
A step towards future-ready education
“AI education is a key part of future-ready learning that prepares students for new career opportunities. It will help students think creatively and complete projects beyond conventional frameworks. Students will get exposure to machine learning and data analysis at the school level itself.”
— Jayshree Chavan, Education Officer (Primary)
A matter of pride
“It is a moment of great pride and joy that our school has been selected among the three in the state and the only one from Marathwada. This selection also increases our responsibility, and we will strive to live up to the trust shown in us.”
