GMCH gets shield of armed guards

Government Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad (GMCH) witnesses thousands of patients every day, along with a heavy influx of relatives, constant activity in the emergency department, and at times, disputes arising from stressful situations. Against this backdrop, GMCH’s security is now set to receive a major boost. The Maharashtra State Security Corporation (MSF) has recently approved 106 additional security personnel, including 10 armed guards. Of these, 70 security personnel have already joined duty at GMCH, taking the total strength of security staff to 260.
Financial approval for the deployment of 106 additional MSF security personnel and the annual expenditure was granted through a Government Resolution dated February 11. An annual expenditure of approximately Rs 5.56 crore has been sanctioned for this purpose. With this addition, the total number of security personnel at GMCH will rise to 260. Dean Dr Shivaji Sukre followed up for the deployment of additional security staff. MSF security officer Suresh Bhale, along with the security personnel, are working towards strengthening the hospital’s security arrangements.
