With temperatures touching record highs, brides and wedding guests are struggling to keep their makeup intact amid intense heat and sweat.

Experts have clarified that while waterproof products are available, 100 per cent sweat-proof makeup does not exist. Sweat comes from within the body, and in temperatures nearing 48°C, expecting makeup to remain unaffected in direct sunlight or while dancing is unrealistic. No makeup artist can guarantee flawless results in such conditions. However, proper techniques and quality products can minimise damage. Experts stress that makeup longevity depends on technique, product quality, and environmental exposure.

Key Tips:

• Prepare skin well; rub ice or apply a sheet mask before makeup to reduce sweating.

• Use blotting powder instead of loose powder.

• Apply high-quality foundation and setting powder.

• Use a good makeup fixer for longevity.

• Do not rub sweat with tissue; gently press blotting paper.

• If blotting paper is unavailable, stand before a fan and let sweat dry naturally.

• Avoid direct sunlight and outdoor dancing as far as possible.
