Growing inflation angers citizens

Aurangabad, July 17:

Diesel is just Rs 1.50 away from touching Rs 100 per litre. The growing inflation has angered the citizens who are expressing their disappointment on social media sites. Goods transporters are also planning to strike against rising fuel prices.

Nearly 90 percent of essential goods are transported through trucks. Nearly all trucks consume diesel. As the price of diesel rises so does the price of goods that lead to increase in inflation. On Saturday, diesel was priced at Rs 98.75 per litre and petrol was Rs 109.12 per litre. Petrol crossed Rs 100 mark on May 16. Petrol was being sold at Rs 100.17 and diesel at Rs 91.69 per litre. In the past two months, petrol price rose by Rs 8.95 and diesel by Rs 7.6. Likewise, the rising inflation has left the citizens fuming. The financial budget of many middle class families has collapsed due to the continuous rising prices of daily necessities and fuel. Their anger is being expressed through social media. Rising fuel prices have made it difficult for the transporters to do business. Hence the transporters are planning to hold indefinite strike demanding to control the rising fuel prices.
