Unable to bear the harassment, she returned to her parental home in Vivekanand Nagar, Tuljapur, where she died by suicide on April 24 around 11:45 am.

Based on a complaint by Nita Ganesh Garad, police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against her husband Shubham Kadam, mother-in-law Jayashree Kadam, and others.

The complaint also alleges that the victim was threatened that her husband would be remarried if she failed to fulfil the demand, adding to her distress.
