Aurangabad, June 22:

The Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court's Justice R G Awchat today has suspended the punishment announced by the sessions court, to the sitting MLA of Shiv Sena Pradeep Jaiswal, and granted him bail on a surety bond of Rs 15,000.

Earlier, the session court punished the MLA for visiting the police station, creating chaos, obstructing the cops from doing their government work, and also threatening them. It may be noted that the incident had taken place on the night of May 20, 2018. After hearing the charges, the session court held him responsible under Section 353 and 506 and announced six months simple imprisonment, and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000. Hence the MLA through Adv. Devang Rajendra Deshmukh submitted an appeal in the High Court.

Adv Govind Kulkarni represented Adv Deshmukh. After hearing the High Court gave the above verdict.
