Aurangabad, Jan 12:

The health administration of rural and urban sectors have completed the preparations to implement the COVID vaccination drive successfully, in the district, on January 16.

The vaccine will be administered to the healthcare workers through 18 booths in the district. It includes 11 booths from rural parts of the district and seven booths from the urban limit. The health administration had established 268 booths for vaccination under the first phase. However, not all the booths will be functioning on the first day.

The 11 booths are established in sub-district hospitals, rural hospitals and primary health centres (in rural) and seven booths set up in hospitals and primary health centres (in urban) on January 16. The vaccine is safe. I appeal to all the registered health personnel to get the vaccine without hesitation, said the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar.

The 11 booths of the rural sector include sub-district hospitals at Sillod, Gangapur and Vaijapur; rural hospitals at Kannad, Pachod and Khuldabad and primary health centres at Ganori, Polad, Daulatabad, Manur and Nilajgaon. The seven booths of the municipal corporation area include three AMC's primary health centres at Bhimnagar, Cidco N-11 and Sadatnagar; and two hospitals situated at Silk Mills Colony and Bansilalnagar.

The additional district health officer and vaccination officer Dr Vijay Wagh said, " The vaccination programme will continue for two months and will be implemented in phases at 11 booths of the rural parts of the district. The stock of the vaccine will be receiving in the coming two days in the district."

It is learnt that 37,000 health care workers from the district had registered themselves through Co-WIN app. Each registered person will be alerted with the message comprising date, time and place of the vaccine. If there exists any problem in sending the message, then he/she would be informed through a phone call.

The vaccination programme will be conducted in four phases. The vaccine will be given to the government and private doctors and paramedical staff under the first phase. The second phase is for frontline workers (revenue staff, police officers and personnel, home guards etc.); the third phase is for persons above 50 years age and the fourth phase is for the persons less than 50 years of age with co-morbidities.
