Heatwave Breaks Records in CSN: Temperature Hits 43.6°C

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The city is reeling under an intense heatwave as temperatures continue to soar. The scorching heat is making life miserable for both people and animals alike.

The maximum temperature hit a record-breaking 43.6°C on May 12, surpassing the previous high of 43.4°C recorded on April 26. The minimum temperature stood at 27.8°C. The heatwave has been intensifying over the past three days, and the Weather Department had already warned that temperatures would rise after May 10.

The city and its surrounding areas have been experiencing intense heat and heatwave conditions for the past three days. The streets were deserted in the afternoon due to the heatwave. Temperatures peaked between 11 AM and 3 PM. Even after 6 PM, the atmosphere remained hot and uncomfortable.

From May 1 to 10, temperatures stayed below 40°C but rose sharply after that. The maximum temperature was only 36°C, last year on May 12, making this year's reading significantly higher and the hottest recorded in the last six years.

Stay Safe in the Heat

Weather expert Kirankumar Johare advised people to take precautions, especially the elderly, pregnant women, and children. He recommended drinking plenty of ORS water and avoiding going outside between 11 AM and 5 PM, as heatstroke and vomiting cases are being reported.
