Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The incident of the honey bee attack took place once again on Tuesday at the Ajanta Caves. Around 10 to 12 tourists were stung by bees during the incident.

For the past 15 days, there have been multiple reports of bee attacks on tourists at both Ellora and Ajanta Caves, and these incidents show no signs of stopping. There are beehives scattered throughout the areas around these two world heritage sites, but little action has been taken to remove them, resulting in continuous attacks by the bees.

On Tuesday, some tourists at Ajanta Caves were suddenly attacked by bees. In an attempt to protect themselves, some tourists used nearby handkerchiefs and scarves to cover their faces, but a few were still stung. Several others had to remove bee stingers from their bodies while sitting in the cave.

Tourists express concerns about visiting

I was personally present at the Ajanta Caves on Tuesday during this incident. Afterwards, many expressed the feeling that they would not bring any more tourists here, considering the situation, said Jaswant Singh, President of the Aurangabad Tourism Development Foundation (ATDF), emphasizing the need to address the bee problem urgently.
