Hotels allowed to function till 10 pm

The time limit for hotels and permit rooms in the city and surrounding areas has been relaxed after a meeting between district collector Sunil Chavan and commissioner of police Nikhil Gupta here on Wednesday. The collector said that the hotels will be allowed to remain open till 10 pm.

Restaurants, hotels and permit rooms in the city started full-fledged operations after six months on Monday. However, the hotels were closed before 9 pm. Therefore, the representatives of the hotel industry met the district collector and demanded an extension of time. Collector Chavan said that the hotel operators have been given a deadline till 10 pm.

Liquor stores will close before 9 pm. There will be a team of deputy commissioner of labour, Joint Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, Corporation employees to see whether the time limits are being followed. In rural areas, health department staff will be on vigilance.

"Every hotelier will be required to conduct the RTPCR test of their employees. All hotel operators have been given three days for the test. They will also require strict adherence to the terms and conditions laid down for corona prevention" said Chavan.
