HSC students fails to thrive in battle of life

In a tragic incident, the 19-year-old Roshan Pakhare (19, Mukundwadi), who had sustained grave injuries in a speeding car accident, died

after battling with life for 17 days, on October 22. An air of disappointment has prevailed against the Pundaliknagar police, as they have failed to trace the whereabouts of the car driver and its occupants, in these three weeks.

Roshan was a student of 12th class. He was staying with his parents and a brother at Mukundnagar, while his one married sister stays in the neighbourhood.

It so happened that Roshan’s aunty (sister of his mother) was admitted for the treatment of an ailment in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on October 5. Hence after giving tablets to her aunt he was riding towards home at 1 am (during midnight). He crossed the SFS School and was proceeding towards Seven Hills flyover at 1.30 am. Ironically, just before the start of the flyover, a white colour car coming in speed from behind hit him and fled away from the spot. Not a single vehicle passing through the flyover stopped to extend succour to him.

Roshan was undergoing treatment in GMCH’s intensive care unit (ICU). Meanwhile, the family members were hoping that the police will trace and arrest the irresponsible driver and arrange the medical expense of treatment from them to save Roshan, but it was in vain. The family members also collected CCTV footage of the road from where the car proceeded. However, the police failed to take pains in searching for the accused. Meanwhile, an air of displeasure and anger prevailed amongst the relatives against the police after the demise of Roshan on Sunday.
