Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A woman allegedly attempted to murder her husband by pushing him from the balcony of her flat following an argument over jewellery he had asked her to return. The incident occurred on May 10 in Vishalnagar. After the condition of the injured man, Sandeep Dhumma Rathod (34, Waluj Mahanagar), improved, an attempt to murder case was registered at the Pundliknagar police station on May 13. The accused has been identified as Priyanka Pawar-Rathod. Originally from Adgaon Chincholi, Sandeep works in the electric vehicle sales business. He currently lives in Waluj with his first wife and son. In 2020, he came in contact with Priyanka Pawar through Facebook. Their friendship later turned into a relationship, and the two got married in 2024. After marriage, Priyanka was living with her son in a rented flat in Vishalnagar, paying a monthly rent of Rs 17,000. Sandeep frequently visited her there. According to the complaint, when Sandeep visited her on May 10, Priyanka demanded money for her mother. An argument broke out after she allegedly insisted that he immediately arrange Rs 10,000. Sandeep then asked her to return the jewellery he had previously given her a 9-gram gold ring and a bracelet weighing nearly 2.75 tolas. The dispute escalated, and Priyanka allegedly pushed him directly from the balcony of the flat. Sandeep suffered serious injuries to his ribs and chest and fell unconscious. Police have registered a case against Priyanka, and further investigation is underway, said Police Inspector Ashok Bhandare.
