A team of MIDC Waluj and crime branch arrested one person for the illegal sale of liquor in Waluj. The police seized liquor worth Rs 35,000 from the possession of accused Birendra Rambabu Kumar.
As per police, they received a tip-off that liquor was being sold illegally behind a hotel in Jogeshwari area. Upon receiving this information, a team of crime branch SI Amol Deshmukh, Nandkumar Bhandare and others raided the shed on Jogeshwari road. While people who were present ran away from the spot. The police arrested Birendra Kumar (Tirupati Hotel, Jogeshwari) who was selling liquor. The team also found 14 boxes of liquor worth Rs 34,944. A case has been registered against the accused.
