Aurangabad, June 29:

Permission to increase floors of Cidco-Hudco areas will be granted soon with the use of 2.2 FSI.

It may be noted that Cidco constructed affordable houses for poor and needy workers in the 1970-80s. Big plots were also sold for high profile people.

Cidco’s various housing schemes received good responses from people.

Later, Cidco-Hudco areas were handed over to Aurangabad Municipal Corporation on the insistence of residents. The AMC is providing basic facilities for the past few days.

There was a demand to turn leased-hold properties to free-hold for the past two decades. The State government decided to give free-hold to the property owners of Cidco-Hudco.

Even after this, property owners needed to take a no-objection certificate for the construction. 100 pc premium was being collected from them.

The AMC commissioner, Astik Kumar Pandey, took up the matter of reducing premium with the Urban Development Department a few days ago.

He insisted on collecting a 35 pc premium. His efforts bore fruit. Currently, 1.1 FSI is used in Cidco-Hudco. The residents will be able to use 2.2 FSI soon and increase the floors of the building.

Joint director of Urban Development Department Jayant Kharwadkar said that the AMC issued TDRs to property owners after acquiring their land.

“TDRs are being used in the city. Today, there no permission for the implementation of TDRs for Cidco-Hudco areas. The matter of TDR is being pursued. Once Cidco gives permission, TDRs can be used for increasing building floors,” he added.
