Inner Wheel Club of Aurangabad Lotus has launched an initiative for disposal and recycling of damaged idols, religious pictures and related materials.

Around 600 kg of religious items and 300 kg of books were collected through eight centres in the city, with support from Sindhi Colony residents. The material was sent to Nashik for processing at Sampoornam Seva Kendra run by adv Trupti Shrikant Gaikwad. Items will be recycled into useful products, while usable books will be distributed to old age homes and prisons. The club has raised Rs 50,000 towards the Rs 240 per kg recycling cost. Club president Rashmi Chechani and members led the initiative, which is being appreciated for promoting environmental protection and respectful disposal practices.
