The under-construction Iskcon VECC Temple at Warud Kaji will host a Shri Ram Katha Gyan Yagya from May 15 to 21. Internationally acclaimed preacher Lal Govind Das will narrate the Ramayana during the seven-day spiritual discourse.
The event is being organised on the auspicious occasion of Purushottam Month. A key preparatory meeting of the organising committee was held on Monday evening at the Iskcon temple in Cidco N-1 in the presence of Rajendra Darda, editor-in-chief of Lokmat Media Group and chief patron of the committee. The meeting also reviewed the successful organisation of last year’s Shrimad Bhagwat Katha.
The Shri Ram Katha will be held daily from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm, with arrangements for 2,500 to 3,000 devotees at a time. The pillarless auditorium, equipped with modern technology and a balcony facility, has been specially prepared for the event. Rituals including abhishek, pujan and aarti of Lord Ram will be performed. A daily community feast (bhandara) will be arranged for nearly 2,000 to 2,500 devotees. Adequate parking facilities have also been provided, the organisers said.
Committee president N.K. Gupta, Rajesh Bharuka, working president Rajkumar Agrawal, Rukmini Raman Prabhu, Omprakash Goyal, Dr Purushottam Agrawal, secretary Jagdish Agrawal, treasurer Govind Goyal, coordinator Dr Vishal Ladaniya and several other members were present at the meeting.
