Power supply in the Jyotinagar area remained disrupted from around 7.15 pm on Saturday after a distribution transformer (DP) caught fire. Repair work continued till late night, forcing residents to endure darkness and intense heat.

Urja Sahyog president Vilaschandra Kabra said the power supply was immediately shut after the fire broke out. Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control, following which maharashtra state electricity distribution company limited(MSEDCL) began repair work. However, power had not been restored even by 11 pm. Residents said the outage also affected water supply and household appliances and expressed anger over frequent power disruptions in the area.
