Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital marks World Kidney Day with donor felicitation

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Department of Nephrology at Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital organised an awareness and kidney donor felicitation programme on the occasion of World Kidney Day 2026 on Thursday at the Nursing College Auditorium of the hospital.

The programme aimed to spread awareness about kidney health, prevention of kidney diseases, kidney transplantation and the importance of organ donation, while honouring the selfless contribution of kidney donors.

Superintendent of police, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Dr Vinaykumar Rathod attended as the chief guest, while mayor Sameer Rajurkar was the guest of honour.

Senior dignitaries present included Kamalnayan Bajaj hospital CEO Dr George Fernandes, Dr Ajay Rotte, Dr Milind Vaishnav, Dr Sameer Mahajan and Dr Nikhil Ingale.

The programme included a yoga session, tree plantation drive, poster presentation, expert sessions on kidney care, quiz and talent activities for donors, kidney donor felicitation and a health check-up camp. Free basic tests and expert guidance were also provided to participants.

Speaking on the occasion, medical director Dr Ajay Rotte said the programme celebrated the spirit of life gifted through kidney transplantation and recognised the courage, love and generosity of kidney donors.

CEO, Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital, Dr. George Fernandes, said, “World Kidney Day is not just an occasion to raise awareness, but also a moment to honour the extraordinary courage of kidney donors and the renewed hope that transplantation brings into patients’ lives.”
