Ketaki Kokil is changing the lives of rural women with innovative solutions in clean cooking and menstrual hygiene.

As the director of Ecosense Appliances Pvt. Ltd., she developed the Pellet-based Improved Cookstove, which reduces indoor air pollution, and Zeropad, a sanitary napkin incinerator for hygienic disposal. These solutions have impacted thousands of women, promoting health, sustainability, and economic independence. Recognizing her contribution, Aamhi Udyogini Pratishthan honoured her with the State-Level Women Entrepreneur Award at an event in Mumbai, presided over by Maharashtra’s Minister of Industries, Uday Samant. Over 500,000 cookstoves have been distributed across rural India, providing a clean and efficient cooking alternative. “Our mission is to understand women’s struggles and create solutions,” Kokil said. Her journey, celebrated on Women’s Day, highlights how innovation can drive social change. Her success story inspires more women to embrace entrepreneurship and technology to solve real-world challenges.
