Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
On Saturday night, two young children aged 8 and 3 were found wandering helplessly near the Cidco bus stand, crying out for their mother. Their distress drew the attention of passers-by, who soon gathered around. It was later revealed that an unidentified man had allegedly brought them from Waluj and abandoned them there.
However, humanity prevailed. Thanks to the alertness of an auto-rickshaw driver and the swift efforts of Cidco police, traffic police, and the Damini squad, the children were safely reunited with their mother at around 3 am.
Around midnight, auto drivers noticed the children crying and informed assistant sub-inspector Jitendra Chavan. They even provided food and comforted the hungry children until the police arrived.
How they were traced
The Damini squad received a call from the control room around midnight and rushed to the spot. After gaining the children’s trust, they said a man had brought and left them there. Further questioning revealed they were from Satenagar in Waluj. The case was registered at Cidco police station, and the children were later taken to Waluj police station.
Tearful reunion
At around 3 am, the mothers were called to the police station. Seeing their children safe, they broke down and embraced them tightly. The emotional moment moved everyone present.
Police have detained accused Dilip Jadhav from Bidkin. Further investigation is underway, said police inspector Ajay Shitole.
