Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A major leak developed in the main water pipeline supplying water to the city at Isarwadi on the Paithan–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highway around 12.30 pm on Monday. The incident occurred when a valve on the 2,500 mm diameter pipeline suddenly slipped during ongoing repair work.

Due to the dislodged valve, thousands of litres of water were wasted over nearly two hours. Upon receiving information, a technical team from the concerned department rushed to the spot and began efforts to stop the flow.

Repair work is being carried out on a war footing, and there is a possibility that the city’s water supply may be affected.
