Aurangabad, June 24:

A man from Mumbai committed suicide by jumping from the terrace of the building as his married ex-girlfriend refused to meet him. The incident occurred at Etkheda on Wednesday at around 10.30 pm. A case of accidental death has been registered at the Satara police station. The deceased, Tushar Sanjay Gaikwad (32) is a resident of Thane, Mumbai and works in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC). Tushar and the girl had an affair. However, her family members married her to a man from Aurangabad. She was staying with her husband here and had two children. Tushar remained unmarried and used to come to Aurangabad to meet her. He came here on Wednesday and called his lover to meet him, but she refused as her husband was home. In a fit of anger, he went to her apartment’s terrace and started shouting for her. He asked her to come and meet him, but she refused. Hence, he jumped from the building. The Satara police, on receiving the information, rushed to the spot and took injured Tushar to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where the doctors declared him dead after examination. His body was kept at the GMCH mortuary. The police contacted his relatives and informed them about the incident. They had not reached here till Thursday evening. The body will be handed over to them after post mortem, the sources said.
