Aurangabad, March 8: In a sensational incident, a man stabbed his elder brother to death over a land dispute at Pathrud in Majalgaon tehsil of Beed district in Marathwada on Monday at 8 pm.

Accused Shaikh Arshad Shaikh Shakeel (25) and his elder brother Shaikh Irshad Shaikh Shakeel (30) had a mobile phone shop on Telgaon road at Pathrud.

On Monday evening, the two brothers fought over a land dispute. Both were carrying sharp weapons in the hands, according to sources.

Accused Arshad stabbed Irshad who succumbed to excessive bleeding and grievous injuries. It has been claimed that the mother supported the younger son while the father favoured the elder son, in the dispute.

Deputy superintendent of police Suresh Patil visited the spot. Accused Shaikh Arshad was taken into custody. The process of registered a case with the Majalgaon rural police station was on.
