In a shocking incident, a man committed suicide as soon he came to know that his wife had ended her life at Pangri Camp in Parli Vaijnath tehsil of Beed district, on Tuesday night. The couple has been identified as Priyanka (19) and Sayas Pandit.

Priyanka consumed poison in her house at 6 pm on Tuesday after which she was admitted to the Parli rural hospital. She died at about 11 pm on Tuesday. As soon as her husband came to know about her death, he also committed suicide by hanging himself from the roof on Tuesday night.

Sayas Pandit got married to Priyanka a few months ago. According to sources, the couple quarreled frequently over domestic reasons. In a fit anger, Priyanka consumed poison.

The bodies of both the deceased were brought to the Parli rural hospital for post-mortem. The precise reason of the double suicide is not yet ascertained. The relatives of both deceased had gathered on the hospital premises. The police inspector of Parli rural police station Shivlal Purbhe visited the spot. A case of accidental death has been registered.
